THE PACK

All are RSPCA rescues - and all have experienced horrifying times to some degree at the start of their lives, however, I think that all have fallen onto their four big fat feet!

PATCHES

Patches is Top Dog. Born in June 1997 he is a Dalmatian Cross, probably with a Border Collie. He has been with me since he was three months old.

MAISIE

Maisie is a Lurcher or Lurcher Cross of uncertain age but thought to have been born towards the end of the year 2000. She is a real “madam”.

MAX

Max is a Pointer, probably a cross with a Border Collie as he has some Collie features particularly around the face. He looks and acts just like a puppy of 18 months to two years of age, but was born towards the end of 2002.

And…..when their friends come to stay we also have as company:

CHARLIE

Charlie is a Springer Spaniel cross born in December 1999. He is a big lad, even after a diet, and weighs in at around 35 Kilos but he really is a big softy.

KIERA

Kiera is a complete mongrel of totally unknown parentage. She is known to be older than Charlie as she was more or less a full adult when rescued, so an educated guess as to her age would suggest she was born probably around the later part of 1998.

MADDY

This is the latest addition to the family “Pack”. Maddy is a Boxer Labrador cross born towards the end of 2007.

When they are all here their combined weight is in the region of 160 Kilos – in old money about 27 Stone!!

BECKY

Becky, who was my Mother’s dog, was a typical Terrier Cross again of very considerable but uncertain age but thought to have been born around the late 1980s, and came to live here permanently in July 2005

1st November 2007

La petite dame est morte

ROSIE

Rosie is a Labradoodle – more Poodle than Labrador – and was 11 months old when she came to stay with us for a few days in January 2008. Weighing in at well over 30 kilos she really is a big and very bouncy puppy. Sadly her previous treatment and experiences meant that she struggled to fit in with normal pack behaviour and could not stay permanently. In the short time I knew her I soon found her to be a delightful handful and was very sad that she could live here permanently. There is a happy ending to this story, Rosie has been recruited into the RAF and this should give her a full and happy life one to which I think, she is very well suited.
